- 1/2 Cup cold butter Cut into cubes, vegan stick butter can be replaced
- 2 cups All-purpose white flour or whole wheat flour
- 3 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 3/4 Cup 1% milk For a vegan variant, use soy milk

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Mix all ingredients except milk in a food processor. Pulsate until a fine crumb forms. The mixture should look like small pebbles or sand. Keep this mixture cold until you can move on to the next step. This can be done in advance and kept in the fridge or freezer until you are ready to add the milk and bake!

Pour the flour and butter mixture into a mixing bowl and gradually add the milk until a sticky batter forms. Use the spoon to drop the batter (a little less than 1/4 cup of batter per measuring spoon) onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
