Oh pancakes. This good old-fashioned breakfast favorite will never go out of style. Finally, you can whip them up in no time and customize the delicious rounds to your liking. Here at Skinny Ms. we are big fans of this timeless classic. Even so, we brought you this incredible old-fashioned pancake recipe straight from Grandma’s kitchen.
A classic breakfast favorite
Nothing beats the fragrant aroma of pancakes sizzling on the frying pan. In the past, my family would visit my grandmother’s house to spend lazy Sunday mornings together, hanging around and enjoying their incomparable cuisine. Of course, I was looking forward to the pancakes the most. Nothing compared to these golden brown, delicious treats – complete with a fluffy interior and crispy, buttery edges.
Simple ingredients make up these delicious cakes
Our grandma-inspired, old-fashioned pancakes give you a reason to jump out of bed in the morning. In the meantime, this recipe is practically hassle-free and only takes a few minutes to toss together.
Our delicious pancakes only require a few simple ingredients that you can be comfortable with! Traditional boxed pancake mixes contain white flour and refined sugar. However, our recipe calls for purified ingredients that add nutrients instead of empty carbohydrates. Whole wheat flour gives complex carbohydrates that contain certain healthy vitamins and fiber to keep you bulging. Coconut sugar is now used as an unprocessed alternative to table sugar.
Crunchy pancakes ready in a few minutes!
These hearty, delicious cakes are a breeze to cook with. Just combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in one bowl and milk, eggs and butter in another. Then combine dry and wet ingredients and pour about 1/3 cup of the batter onto a hot pan. Let the pancake mixture cook until both sides are golden brown and voila! These tasty babies are ready to be devoured in minutes!
Serve with your favorite finishing touches
When you’re done, complete your old-fashioned pancakes with a little more deliciousness. Warm berries, sliced bananas, plain maple syrup, or even honey are wonderful options. We hope you like it!
- 1 1/2 cups Whole wheat flour
- 3 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon Coconut sugar
- 1 1/4 cups Skimmed milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoon whole butter melted
Mix the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a bowl. Mix well.
Mix the milk, egg and butter in a second bowl. Sift the flour mixture into the milk mixture. Just stir until you combine, a few lumps are fine!
Heat a large pan over medium heat. Spray lightly with non-stick spray. Once the pan is very hot, pour about 1/3 cup of batter onto the pan. Wait for bubbles to form and burst before turning the pancake. Cook until the second side is golden brown. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, spraying the pan with nonstick spray as needed. Serve hot with your favorite pancake toppings.
