Our fruit and oat biscuits are sweetened with natural ingredients to satisfy these cravings and stick to your diet.
Better still, these treats are dairy-free and egg-free too, which makes them a plant-based option Our vegan friends can indulge themselves without worries. Whatever your preferences, we know you will love these delicious cookies!
A sweet treat full of nutrients
We love recipes that don’t require added sugar. This is one of the many reasons we love these cookies. Most cookie recipes call for refined sugars and provide no nutritional value in what we call “empty calories”.
With naturally sweet whole food ingredients like bananas, almond butter, applesauce, and maple syrup, no additives are required in making these cookies. Plus, cinnamon and nutmeg give these treats a warm, calming, and nutty taste without adding any extra calories. While this dessert is low in sugar (as far as cookies are concerned), they certainly aren’t lacking in nutrients!
As bananas ripen, their starches break down and turn into sugar, which is why ripe bananas are sweeter! This tasty fruit is best known for its potassium content, a vitamin that supports a healthy heart, fluid balance in the body, and efficient muscle contractions. Bananas are also rich in vitamin B6 and vitamin C, which help maintain healthy organs, muscles, and bones.
Creamy almond butter
Almond butter gives these biscuits a smooth, nutty flavor, but it also contributes a variety of nutrients. Almond butter is a healthier alternative to peanut butter because it has more fiber, healthy fats, vitamin E, iron and calcium!
Cinnamon and nutmeg
These calorie-free spices give our fruit and oat biscuits an incredible taste. They are also believed to promote brain health and improve mood.
Crave-worthy flavors, soft and crispy textures
The above ingredients make these cookies cute, but texture is just as important as taste! This is where oats, raisins, sunflower seeds and flax seeds come into play! Of course, each of these ingredients add to the biscuits’ taste and nutritional value.
This ingredient gives the biscuits volume and a soft, chewy texture, but also makes a significant contribution to the nutritional profile. Fast oats are a great source of fiber, iron, and vitamin B6. The high fiber content helps control your appetite by keeping you full longer. Sufficient amounts of iron and vitamin B6 keep us full of energy and our metabolism works optimally.
Dried cranberries give these biscuits a slightly sour taste, which balances out the natural sweetness. Cran raisins are full of antioxidants and contain a healthy dose of fiber.
Sunflower seeds and ground flaxseed are great sources of healthy fats that add another layer of earthy nuttiness to these cookies. Sunflower seeds are high in vitamin E and promote heart health, while flax seeds are high in fiber and are great for maintaining a healthy digestive system.
