A decadent dessert hummus that’s good for you too!
Get ready to take your hummus game to a whole new level with this Chocolate Hummus Fruit Dip! Yes, you read that right: we paired chocolate and hummus and gave this classic Mediterranean staple a sweet touch. The result will blow your palate away! Traditional hummus recipes are made with chickpea beans, tahini, olive oil and salt to create a creamy puree that tastes great as a pita spread or vegetarian dip. However, we have found that you don’t have to go the traditional route when making hummus. So why not make a sweet version for dessert?
We’re taking hummus to the next level
We decided to shake things up and create a hummus that falls under the dessert category. This chocolate hummus fruit dip is the perfect sweet treat for parties and gatherings. Not to mention it will satisfy your sweet tooth and give you your chocolate fix while connecting you with loads of feel-good vitamins and nutrients.
A guilt-free chocolate dip
Most hummus recipes go well with vegetables or flatbreads, but our chocolate hummus goes well with many different side dishes. We love to serve it with salty pretzels, sliced fruit, and graham crackers. Unconventional? Maybe, but more like chocolate fondue than traditional hummus, it’s just guilt free and good for you.
Here chickpeas combine with creamy tahini, maple syrup, unsweetened cocoa powder and vanilla extract. The result is a rich, chocolaty dip good enough to enjoy with a spoon.
What’s in Chocolate Hummus Fruit Dip?
Our chocolate hummus dip is vegan, plant-based and completely dairy-free, so it goes with almost every diet. It only takes a few simple ingredients that will nourish your body and not break your budget. Chickpeas make up the majority of this recipe. This key ingredient can help control blood sugar, aid digestion, lower cholesterol, and lower the risk of cancer.

The other ingredients in this hummus dessert also have impressive nutritional profiles. For example, tahini is high in healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. At the same time, it offers antibacterial properties and anti-inflammatory compounds that keep your immune system in top shape.
Unsweetened cocoa doesn’t just add a rich, chocolaty taste to your food. In fact, cocoa is a powerful superfood because it contains a shipload of antioxidants and immune-boosting benefits.
The final result? This recipe will satisfy your sweet tooth while promoting your health at the same time. What more do you want
